A growing list of bilateral agreements
South Korea's H-1 working holiday visa exists only for nationals of countries with an active bilateral working holiday agreement with Korea, and that list has continued to expand in recent years — meaning it's worth checking current status even if you looked into this before.
What the H-1 visa provides
The H-1 visa is typically valid for 12 months and, unlike most Korean work visas, isn't tied to a single employer or job offer — it's intended to let holders travel and take up incidental work to help fund that travel.
Age eligibility differs by agreement
- Most agreements: 18 to 30
- Some agreements: extended to 34 or 35
Before you apply
Because Korea's H-1 partner-country list and each agreement's specific age range and terms are set bilaterally and do change, confirm your passport country's current agreement directly through your local Korean embassy or consulate, or HiKorea's official site.
