Digital Nomad Support

Application support for the destinations that offer a genuine, dedicated remote-work visa — not simply a visitor visa used informally.

Learn More

A true digital nomad visa is a dedicated visa category built for people who work remotely for an employer or clients outside the country they're living in. Among the destinations we cover, only Thailand, South Korea, and Argentina currently run one. Elsewhere, remote work is sometimes tolerated informally under ordinary visitor-visa conditions, which is a materially different — and less secure — basis to build a stay around, and isn't covered as a category here. There is no universal 'digital nomad visa.' Select a destination below to see the specific program, or start with a free assessment.

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a multi-entry visa for remote workers and freelancers whose income comes from outside Thailand. It allows an initial stay per entry with a single extension available in-country, and the visa itself remains valid for an extended period, letting holders re-enter repeatedly without reapplying.

  • —Freelancers with verifiable overseas clients

Important application areas

Common questions

Is remote work on a visitor visa the same as a digital nomad visa?

No. Some destinations informally tolerate limited remote work for an overseas employer under ordinary visitor-visa conditions, but that is not a dedicated visa, carries no long-term security, and isn't something we treat as a digital nomad category. A genuine digital nomad visa is its own visa product with its own requirements.

Can I work for a local employer on a digital nomad visa?

No — digital nomad visas specifically require your income or employer to be based outside the country you're living in. They don't authorize entering the local labour market.

Which destinations you cover have a real digital nomad visa?

Among the destinations we cover, Thailand, South Korea, and Argentina currently run a dedicated digital nomad visa. We don't offer this as a category for other destinations, since no comparable dedicated visa currently exists there.

Digital nomad visa eligibility, income thresholds, and tax treatment are set and changed by the relevant destination's government and can shift with little notice. Covalyn Migration does not guarantee approval and does not provide tax advice. Where regulated advice or representation is required, it must be provided by an appropriately authorized professional.
